HOMEWORK

Each Syndicate or group of classes will inform parents of the homework requirements and routines. Homework is set to provide children vvith the opportunity to practice and build on words learnt at school.
The following is a guideline of the average time for homework on each of Monday to Thursday nights:

Year 1 and 2: 10 minutes
Year 3 and 4: 15 minutes
Year 5 and 6: 20 minutes

Working hard

Returning Readers, having the correct clothing for physical education is all part of the homework routine.

REPORTING TO PARENTS
Communication between the Teachers and Parents is a key aspect of ensuring the total education of the student is a shared responsibility with the children becoming increasingly involved as they progress through the school. The following are regular times that are organised.

February: Informal Meet the Teacher/Parent Function
March: Individual Conferences to focus on individual learning needs and
how the parents can support their children.
August/September: Individual Conference to discuss the progress achieved since the
March conferences.
December: Written report issued which summarises the progress achieved through the year.

Listening to the teacher

As well as the above each syndicate will issue a newsletter at the beginning of each
Term to inform parents of key aspects of programmes to be covered during the Term.
An annual Expo of some aspect of work across the school will be held towards the end
of Term 2.

Should parents or teachers have particular concerns about the progress of individuals throughout the year then consultation by either party is to be organised at that time.
