HOMEWORK
Each Syndicate or group of classes will inform parents of the homework
requirements and routines. Homework is set to provide children vvith the
opportunity to practice and build on words learnt at school.
The following is a guideline of the
average time for homework on each of Monday to Thursday nights:
Year 1 and 2: 10 minutes
Year 3 and 4: 15 minutes
Year 5 and 6: 20 minutes |

Returning Readers, having the correct clothing for physical education is all part of the homework routine.
REPORTING TO PARENTS
Communication between the Teachers and Parents is a key aspect of
ensuring the total education of the student is a shared responsibility
with the children becoming increasingly involved as they progress
through the school. The following are regular times that are organised.

Informal Meet the Teacher/Parent Function |
| March: |
Individual Conferences to focus on individual
learning needs and
how the parents can support their children. |
| August/September: |
Individual Conference to discuss the progress achieved since the
March conferences. |
| December: |
Written report issued which summarises the progress achieved through the
year. |

As well as the above each syndicate will issue a newsletter at the
beginning of each
Term to inform parents of key aspects of programmes to be covered during
the Term.
An annual Expo of some aspect of work across the school will be held
towards the end
of Term 2.
Should parents or teachers have particular concerns about the progress
of individuals throughout the year then consultation by either party is
to be organised at that time. |
